Welcome to my showcase of design ideas and inspiration for custom home décor, flattering window treatments and other soft furnishings. I have been blessed by being invited into many beautiful homes and meeting the nicest people. I am among the fortunate few who truly enjoy a fulfilling and rewarding profession. Thank you for looking at my work.

A London Shade combines the simplicity of a casual roman shade with the fullness of a balloon shade for a perfect pairing.

london shadeA London shade can be functional but needs to be pouffed each time it is raised and lowered.  It will show some wrinkling when lowered, more or less so depending on the type of fabric used. Lighting will enhance those wrinkles.  Cords and rings used to construct the shade may be visible with a sheer or lace fabric.  This window treatment looks great in a solid color, but prints, plaids or stripes can be used with careful placement of the pattern.

A roman valance with stationary panels.

The roman valance is custom made to cover the track of the vertical blinds while the stationary panels are ready made.

The stationary panels were purchased extra long and the excess fabric was cut off and used to make ties for the valance tying in the entire treatment.  The mounting board projects out enough to allow the drapery panels to hang freely without interfering with the working of the vertical blinds.

Bring your beautiful, colorful gardens indoors for year round summer style.  Adorn your windows in your favorite floral print and pair it with a coordinating contrast.

The same button back valance with a couple of extra pleats to make up for the additional width of the kitchen door wall, hides the vertical blind track and give the illusion of a taller doorway.  Stationary side panels are attached to the mounting board to cover up the vertical blind stats when they are open.

Do you have instructions for how to make this valance?

Hi! I just adore your button down valance-especially the gorgeous floral one above the sink!!! Would it be possible to get the instructions for making it, please? I am making this in a nautical inspired look–whites/blues–very coastal. My main pattern is blue sailing ships on a white background–very cool and crisp looking. The insert will be a blue stripe fabric and the buttons solid blue. My hope at least. I would really appreciate your instructions and thank you so much. All my best, Linda McNally
