The paisley pattern of the duvet cover was repeated on the buttons and cording of the upholsterd headboard as was the floral fabric on the valance and pillows. Notice the stripe fabric on the bedskirt the window seat and the contrast on the valance. It’s all tied together with some throw pillows and bolsters. Sleep tight in this very pretty bedroom.
Featured here is a pair of bedroom windows needing some room darkening. A pleated valance keeps daylight from escaping the top of the windows, wood blinds allow for privacy during the day without closing them off all the way and drapery panels with blackout lining give total darkness when needed. Bright striped banding adds color and interest to the room. A blackout lining is not necessarily black but it can completely block out light. This lining also serves as an insulator keeping the heat or cold out not to mention those drafty windows.
In this walkout basement we have a roman valance with ties made out of a bright and cheery yellow and red plaid. If gives a bright pop of color to this room and coordinates with the roman shade over the door.
Happy colors vibrate with energy, raise your spirits on the most gloomy of days and are guaranteed to make you smile. What are some happy, cheerful colors? Sunny yellows, fruity oranges, rosy pinks, bright turquoises, vibrant greens and aqua blues.
