What hidden treasures do you have in your home. This homeowner had some beautiful antique handkerchiefs of all shapes and sizes but they were not giving her any pleasure being stuffed into a dresser drawer. This unique valance makes a wonderful display for all to enjoy. I’ve taken these antique handkerchiefs and overlapped them one on top of the other to create this unique valance. Once sewn together they were mounted on a board and hung over the window.
French Doors are difficult to decorate since there needs to be room for the door to swing open. This kitchen had plenty of room above the doors to do a unique valance. Swags with contrast lining were hung from decorative iron hardware adding height to the windows and softness to the room.
Same floor plan, same drapery style. One a soft, neutral color, the other a rich bold color. Isn’t it amazing how different they both look. Color makes a big difference. What’s your color style?
Make a great first impression, your front door should not be forgotten. This homeowner chose to decorate her side lights with swags and beautiful tassel trim, not only welcoming family and visitors alike but adding color and texture where there was none.
