Welcome to my showcase of design ideas and inspiration for custom home décor, flattering window treatments and other soft furnishings. I have been blessed by being invited into many beautiful homes and meeting the nicest people. I am among the fortunate few who truly enjoy a fulfilling and rewarding profession. Thank you for looking at my work.

Pinch pleated drapery panels are one of the oldest styles of window treatments. The reason that drapery panels have been used for so long is simple, they are practical. Often in family rooms and living rooms drapery panels are used to give privacy, light control and an added bonus of climate control. The mechanisms that allow the drapery panels to open and close vary from a traverse rod, to simple rings, hooks or even ties. These pinch pleated panels in this family room add a cozy comfort to the room. The panels match the monochromatic scheme of the room keeping it simple and allowing the furniture to take center stage.  The drapery panels are trimmed on the inside edge in the same fabric used on the accent pillows. Large plush pillows, with cording and fringe, in the warm tones add the finishing touch.

Ideal for privacy and neat in appearance this roman shade works well in this box out window. The tailored yet functional style allows for the comfy window seat to be used without any intrusion upon the space. The seat bench is covered with a three inch  corded custom cushion creating a very inviting seat. The black and white fabric compliments the bedding and ties the window and seat into the room. The Roman shade can be raised to allow the sunshine in and creates a room with a view. This styling savvy seat is the perfect solution for this area.

The word toile comes from a French word meaning  “linen cloth” or “canvas”, a  cloth for painting on. Toile fabrics will have a white or off white background and use one primary color, most often black, blue or a dark red. The fabrics will use a repeating pattern that depict a theme usually pastoral, showing people and small animals in nature. This green toile fabric is used on a balloon valance. The balloon valance style allows the pastoral scene to be perfectly centered on each billow, conveying the romance that is associated with this type of fabric.

The most beautiful windows are very often the hardest to choose a window treatment style for. Making the most of this wall of windows without obstructing the view is essential.  Using floor to ceiling length draperies that are kept tied back allow the window to remain in full view, while accentuating the asset of the window, its’ height. The panels are gathered on  decorative drapery rods that highlight the ends and center of the windows, allowing the hard window edges to be softened. Motorized honeycomb shades are used for light control. The elegant tone on tone fabric gives the room depth and warmth without being busy. This window treatment certainly allows the beautiful asset to be revealed.

This custom padded cornice board adds a refined touch to this this living room window. The full silhouette shade allows for both privacy and light control in the room. Without creating a closed in feeling a padded cornice board finishes the window with a look of sophistication. The tabs of contrasting color with a button accent are just enough detail to add a stylish finishing touch.
