Welcome to my showcase of design ideas and inspiration for custom home décor, flattering window treatments and other soft furnishings. I have been blessed by being invited into many beautiful homes and meeting the nicest people. I am among the fortunate few who truly enjoy a fulfilling and rewarding profession. Thank you for looking at my work.

Cornice with drapery panels

Padded cornices when paired with drapery panels are a perfect match. The bold daring red color of this moire fabric takes center stage in this room. When trimming the solid fabric with the black and white check pattern, run on the bias, this window treatment truly rules.

The red fabric is definitely the eye-catching element in this room, creating a dramatic look while pulling the three large windows together. The drapery panels help to soften the hard window edges and create a unified look.

Swag with drapery panel and jabot

This custom swag is combined with both a full drapery panel and a shorter jabot. The combination of a long drapery panel on one side of the window and a shorter panel on the other, creates a window treatment that is very traditional but adds a unique twist. This window treatment style is perfect when you have two windows that have a focal point between them, perhaps a fireplace. The shorter panels would be located on the insides of both windows and would help to accentuate the focal point between the windows. The fabric used on this jabot is also very traditional but again the style gives it an updated look. The fabric tones give warmth to the room and the tassel fringe adds the finishing touch.

Drapery Panels

Often color is the hardest choice made in design. The scale of this room and the windows allow for a daring color to be used on the wall. The stripe fabric selection for the drapery panels pulls the wall color and carpeting together, without competing with the color of the wall. The drapery panels are simple yet elegant. The panels are shirred on a rod and tied back, at the window separation, with with a large strip of  contrast fabric. By simply using two panels on each end of the windows the open space of the room is accented, while allowing for the window edge to be softened. The panels hung just below the decorative arch window draw the eye up and accentuate the beautiful arch.

Shower Curtain with Valance

This custom made shower curtain steals the scene. To add depth and warmth to this bathroom a rich toned paisley print fabric was used to create the shower curtain and inverted box pleat valance. The fabric compliments the flooring, tile and wall color.  The large print is centered on each of the three sections created by the inverted box pleats. The shower curtain can be conveniently tied back when not in use, creating a custom look.

Certain room schemes need a dazzling window treatment. To get a window noticed use beautiful hued fabrics, daring prints, unusual styles and unexpected accents. This window treatment covers all the bases yet doesn’t overpower the room. This gathered valance style is a similar to a balloon valance but uses a tie to create an unusual style. The use of two fabrics, one on the main valance the other on the ties create a perfect balance of interest to this style. The corner window is highlighted with a tie, while the individual window centers are accented with a tassel, giving the treatment that unexpected accent. Together these elements create a dazzling effect.
