Welcome to my showcase of design ideas and inspiration for custom home décor, flattering window treatments and other soft furnishings. I have been blessed by being invited into many beautiful homes and meeting the nicest people. I am among the fortunate few who truly enjoy a fulfilling and rewarding profession. Thank you for looking at my work.

Pinch pleated drapery panelsThe architectural shape of this window is the room’s asset. The semi-circular transient window perfectly accents the the ceiling peak creating a beautiful focal point in this bedroom. Keeping the window treatment style simple allows the window to be the accent. Pinch pleated drapery panels hung on a traverse rod, allow the lower main portion of the window to close for privacy and light control. The small checked fabric blends seamlessly with the wall color, allowing the shape of the window to be the focal point. Simple window treatment styles are the best option for special spaces with architectural interest.

Perfectly color coordinated to match the other colors in the room, the pinch pleated drapery panels are hung from a decorative rod that matches the metal finish color of the accent lighting. The gorgeous glass finial that finishes the drapery rod is also repeated in the lighting.

The drapery panels are hung high to give the windows height and help to accentuate the peak focal point of the ceiling. The pinch pleated drapery panels are accented with a darker blue fringe pulling in the deeper tones of blue from the area rug. A faux roman shade in a smaller blue fabric was used to both soften the top of the window and add height. This room is certainly a beautiful place to call home.

This bedroom uses the right material and a little creativity to create a serene retreat. The choice of materials is key to the room’s success. Coordinating fabrics are used on both the bedding and window treatments.

Bedding with coordinating window treatment

The custom reversible duvet cover uses a small cream and black check fabric for the reverse side and is corded with that same fabric run on the bias. The main duvet fabric is a subtle print that was also used on the simple curved, sheered valance used to soften the horizontal blinds.

A larger check pattern like the underside of the duvet cover is used on the two back euro pillows. Two of the remaining pillow sets use a floral pattern that is cleverly used on a coordinating Sheffield valance in the bathroom. The floral pillows are trimmed in the fabric used on the center smaller accent pillow. Two small bolster pillows round out the ensemble with a subtle stripe.

A simple curved bottom is used on the bathroom Sheffield valance, giving a feminine touch to the window treatment.

Together the variety of fabrics create a coordinating sanctuary. By using a few select fabrics on both the bedding and the window treatment you create two different surfaces that blend together as one harmonious room.

Cabot valance with sheers

Sheer drapery panels will give a window an airy, soft, graceful feel. A perfect solution for diffusing light, offering privacy, yet allowing you to see slightly out the window. Sheers differ in their opaqueness, ranging from almost see-through to a much heavier fabric. Newer sheers come in a variety of colors and even offer prints. To get the best of both worlds these sheers are accented with valance that uses longer jabots on the sides, adding to the formal look of the dining room. The valance uses a pinch pleat treatment complimenting the sheer pleats. Beaded fringe gives the treatment a dazzling finish.
