Welcome to my showcase of design ideas and inspiration for custom home décor, flattering window treatments and other soft furnishings. I have been blessed by being invited into many beautiful homes and meeting the nicest people. I am among the fortunate few who truly enjoy a fulfilling and rewarding profession. Thank you for looking at my work.

When selecting fabric for your window treatments, it is important not only to consider colors, texture and design, but pattern repeat and how that helps determine the style that works best.
Bay window

The color and updated pattern on the fabric selection for this bay window was perfect. The pattern motif and repeat posed a challenge, limiting the styles possible for the window design. The solution a tailored, roman valance.  A roman valance is pleated horizontally giving a modern, contemporary look.

The valance was hung directly onto the box out above the windows, keeping the view out the window open. A smaller version of the valance was then hung directly on the front of the door, allowing the door to remain functional. Matching the pattern was key to this window design. Notice how the pattern meets perfectly, creating an exact match, giving the illusion that the pleats do not even exist. With careful design and selection your windows have met their match.

Whether your looking for a traditional style, like these roman shades, or a contemporary solution for your window treatments, I can help you create a look that is unique to your home. Offering an impressive array of possibilities,  I hope you will allow me to help you find the best solution for your space, your needs, your style.

This room uses a touch of color to its’ advantage. Neutral walls and sofa, allow the homeowner to add an accent of color to the window treatment. A flat valance panel with asymmetrical jabots, is a more casual look than swags, perfect for this family room setting. The different length jabots give the window treatment a unique look. The shorter length jabot was then the perfect size for the small higher transient window.

Horizontal blinds are perfect for light and temperature control, but lack softness and visual interest. A modern, curvy, paisley print meets a timeless staple in this inverted box pleat valance, adding a much needed finishing touch to this window. The valance is hung high on the window, so that it falls directly under the crown molding, this adds the illusion of height to the window and keeps a larger portion of the window from being covered by the valance. Teamed together these blinds and valance are practical and beautiful.

Valance

A much needed layer of style was added to these sheer drapery panels with the addition of this uniquely shaped valance. Without this accent valance the drapery panels would be very plain, blending into the wall color. The vibrant color of the valance, makes a bold statement and draws your attention to the window treatment. The tailored box pleat style is off set by the upward curved edge, giving the treatment a slight feminine twist. The top of the valance is trimmed in an accent cording, this color is then repeated in the tassel fringe that finishes the edge of the window treatment.
