balloon valance

We shaped this valance to follow the contour of the ceiling to give the window an arched look.

your balloon balance is exactly what I’m looking for my window is 36″wide and I need a length of about 36 in. of you can give me a price that would be great. The material shown is perfect(the gold and violet)

Thank you for your kind remarks, this valance is one of my favorites and I’m glad you like it. To make this valance you would need 2.5 yards of fabric for your 36″ window and my cost to make it for you would be $110.00 labor plus fabric and shipping. This valance which is a silk fabric was made a few years ago and I’m not sure the fabric is still available but I’m sure we could find you something similar. Please don’t hesitate to call or write with any questions.

    Susan-
Are you still making these balloon valances (the style your showing in the bathroom)?
I am interested in ordering one for my bathroom.
    thanks, Susan

valance

The critters can be enjoyed both indoors and out with this delightful valance.
Here we did a simple box pleat and put a curve to the bottom of the treatment.

Adding a contrast piping and some side panels help to anchor it to the room.

Where can I get patterns for these treatments

  • Susan DorbeckApril 10, 2012 - 9:05 pm

Thanks Jan, each of these window treatments are custom made to fit the individual windows but if you email me your measurements, I can help you out with cutting out a pattern for yourself.

How are the valances hung? On boards or rods?

  • Susan DorbeckSeptember 23, 2012 - 11:22 am

Hi Stacy, these valances are hung on a board. I attach them with hook and loop tape for ease of hanging and cleaning but they can also be stapled right on the boards. To hang them on rods a rod pocket would have to be sewn either above the pleats or behind the treatment if you don’t want seams showing. Thanks for your comment.

    Hello Susan,

You already replied to me once today about this valance that I like so much, but I hadn’t seen this specific page on your website before now. I’ve looked at many examples of valances, and this is exactly what I want to make.

Would you be willing to help me create a pattern for myself as referenced above?

    My 3 windows are:
    35-1/2″W x 47-3/4″H
    72″W x 47-1/2″ H
    72″W x 47-3/4″H

The window frames are all 3-1/2″ wide.

    Thank you so much!
