When decorating a room no matter how simple, window treatments whether plain, pleated or poofy, soften a rooms hard edges. A striped box pleat valance adds just enough to the top of this window without being overpowering. The horizontal lines of the 2″ wood blinds, would be distracting to the eye without the valance. Box pleat valances are a very tailored style with inverted pleats in the corners and any number of pleats in between. Often the fabric pattern can determine how many pleats are needed but in this instance we followed the window style. This valance because of its length is also pleated, where the window is separated, creating a clean stylish look. The pillow shams, made from the same window fabric, pull your eye from the window to the bed, giving you simple decorative flair.
