A pleated valance lends a tailored look to the window. When the pleats are more widely spaced like the one pictured here, it’s called a kick-pleated valance. Seams are easily hidden within the pleats when constructing, carefully calculating the width of each pleat in order to do so. There is no standard for the size of pleat, much of it depends on the type of window you are covering as well as personal choice. In this breakfast nook a contrast button was used as an accent at each pleat to break up the look of the treatment since it was so expansive adding to that custom look.
